Our Doctor

Dr. Martisius is a native of Chicago, Illinois. He is the older of two children and attended high school in Addison, Illinois.

Upon graduation, Dr. Martisius headed west to Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He graduated with a degree in biological sciences and a minor in literature.

To further his education Dr. Martisius moved to Monroe, Louisiana and attended Northeast Louisiana State University. He earned a Master’s Degree in Biology with an emphasis in Microbiology. He graduated with honors and finished at the top academically in his graduate class.

With a vision of blending a biologic/microbiologic understanding of the mouth with oral healthcare, Dr. Martisius continued his education at the Loyola School of Dentistry, known as a leader nationally in clinical dentistry. He graduated with honors, was a representative member of the governing student congress, was elected President of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Fraternity and was inducted into the Alpha Sigma Nu National Jesuit Dental Honor Society for Academic Excellence.

A Specialty Degree in Orthodontics was pursued at the Loyola School of Dentistry due to its reputation as one of the top and oldest orthodontic programs in the country. After earning this specialty certificate, Dr. Martisius practiced orthodontics in the Chicagoland area for 5 years.

Dr. Martisius moved to Monroe in 1994 and has been providing quality orthodontic care to the Northeast Louisiana region since.  He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, the South Western Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Louisiana Dental Association and the Northeast Louisiana Dental Association.

Dr. Martisius married a Louisiana native in 1987. Together he and his wife have raised a son and daughter in Monroe. Dr. Martisius most enjoys spending time with his children which he feels gives him a great perspective with yours.
